Diane has been a tireless volunteer for her beloved alma mater, Sweet Briar College in Virginia. She has served on the Alumnae Board for the college and is the current President of the Sweet Briar Alumnae Club of Washington State. She has most recently been a member of the Board of Directors for Sweet Briar College, serving on the Building and Grounds and External Affairs Committees. During her tenure, a new Fitness and Athletic Center and new graduate student housing were built and a new president for the institution was chosen.
Sweet Briar College, located on 3,300 acres in the foothills of the Blue Ridge Mountains in central Virginia, is a nationally ranked, highly selective, independent liberal arts and sciences college for women. It has a national reputation for its unique honors program, its program in the sciences, and its junior year abroad program, which is part of the College's focus on international affairs.
